I really liked this text. I could notice that it has a very descriptive tone and its language is well suited to the teenagers (probably, the subject influenced the author's style when writing...)so, it was, in my opinion, really interesting.
Regarding its content, the teenagers are more concerned with what their friends are wearing than with fashion designers´s inspirations. The text shows, at the beginning, that teens scorn the adult´s rules “but police their own society with exacting systems of etiquette”, what shows us one of the many paradoxes which involve their universe.
In relation to their style, the text observes the big influence of music (it seems to be, for them, much more important than ‘catwalk fashion’). So, there are, for example, R&B, Alternative Rock and Indie styles. Besides, they are divided, by themselves, in “tribes”, such as Emos, Trendies, Indies, etc. Teenagers are also incredibly worried about their appearance (for example, they're obsessed over details which aren't really important to adults). This idea leads to the conclusion, when the author used the expression “some things never change”, what means that, in the end, some teen behaviours are always the same, independent of time, fashion and trends.
