To start by using vocabulary from the class, I think technology in Brasil is a two-edged sword (really liked this idiom!), since that it makes the lives of the ones that have money better and the lives of the ones that don't have it worse. What we see is the wealthier people using computers, smartphones and tablets, having easyier acess to information and connection to other people, while the poor people get more and more alienated of all of that. Even to people that have money technology is bad in some cases: we've built cars to get to places faster, but we get stuck in the traffic because of them?
Yes, of course. We have many examples: technologies used in production of ethanol from sugarcane and of biodiesel have improved the Brazilian economy; We vote in political elections through portable electronic machines; The Government has increased projects to make computer accessible to large numbers of Brazilians for whom it is unaffordable; In medicine they brought benefits in diagnosis and treatment of diseases, bone marrow transplants, resonance magnetically, tomography, mechanical limbs, heart surgeries, videoconference. ICT and internet certainly have a big impact in our lives, through information and knowledge people can improve their lives in social and economical aspects. Brazil now ranks 56th in The Global Information Technology Report 2010-2011, in the World Economic Forum, in adopting and implementing ICT advances for increased growth and development. It is still necessary to make the technology as accessible as possible to reduce poverty and enable teachers to develop teaching practices more comprehensive and effective for our country have a real improvement and growth.
in my opinion yes,for example, technologies such as computers had an enormous positive impact on society, it helped people in so many ways that it is what caracterises the 90`s to today times.Internet today allows anyone with a computer to acquire almost any knowledge in the world, also, it is definitely the most useful communication mean.Technologies in the medicine sector, have also increased by much people`s life quality, and life expectative.Technology is progress leading to a better world.
